Recreational Therapy Coordinator - LIFE (Living Independence for the Elderly) Lutheran Services is a new program within the established and well-respected care system of Lutheran Social Services of South Central PA.  LIFE, known nationally as PACE (Program of All-inclusive Care for the Elderly), is an exciting interdisciplinary model of care offering a community alternative for frail, elderly nursing home eligible individuals through comprehensive case management.  We are recruiting for a Recreational Therapy Coordinator to join our growing team.  This position will be responsible for the coordination and planning of therapeutic and recreational activities for the participants of the LIFE program. 

The qualified candidate will possess a minimum of two years experience within the last five years in a social or recreational program providing and coordinating services, one of which was full-time, in a patient activities program in a health care setting and one year’s experience working with a frail or elderly population.  A Bachelors Degree in Therapeutic Recreation or a related field is preferred. Heritage Place, a 145 bed continued care facility located in Squirrel Hill, 5 minutes from Pittsburgh, PA is in search of a Director of Activities and Recreation. The director oversees the development and implementation of therapeutic recreation to include but not limited to: physical, intellectual, psychologically and socially stimulating activities for their residents. The qualified candidate will have a Bachelors degree in TR or related field with appropriate state certification. A minimum of two years experience, five years experience preferred in development and implementation of resident activity programs.
