PAPA was organized by Activity Professionals throughout the state to promote and support the Activity Practitioner.

PAPA was founded in 1984 to advance the profession of Activity Directors within the long-term health care setting. PAPA is a non-profit, professional organization with a focus on promoting the needs of Activity Professionals. PAPA has been founded in recognition of the increased accountability demands and dramatic changes facing the health care industry.

Mission

The Pennsylvania Activity Professional Association is a diverse and specialized organization which strives to encourage and support its members through advocacy, education, and resources.

PAPA’s Goals are to:

• Promote quality or service with an emphasis on the geriatric population.
• Increase public awareness and advocate for our profession and quality of life for the elderly on the state and national level.
• Offer & promote educational opportunities for members to meet the ongoing challenges of activity services.
• Foster the exchange of ideas, resources, knowledge and share experience throughout the organization.
